The IBD Research Group at IDIBAPS, Hospital Clinic in Barcelona is a multidisciplinary unit involving translational and clinical researchers investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the development of IBDs, particularly difficult-to-treat complications, including fibrosis and perianal fistulizing disease. Ultimately our research aims to better understand, monitor and treat these complex diseases. In particular, in recent years our group has contributed to the molecular understanding, treatment and imaging of perianal fistulizing disease.

Dr Salas leads the IBD translational laboratory at IDIBAPS. She is also Head of the IBD group at CIBER-EHD and an Associate Professor of Immunology at the University of Barcelona.
