Dr Salas leads the IBD translational laboratory at IDIBAPS. She is also Head of the IBD group at CIBER-EHD and an Associate Professor of Immunology at the University of Barcelona. Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms driving and maintaining IBD, with a special focus on identifying new molecular targets and developing novel therapies that could improve difficult-to-treat disease manifestations, including perianal fistulizing Crohn’s disease.
