Phil Tozer
About
Phil Tozer is a specialist IBD and fistula surgeon based at St Mark's, the National Bowel Hospital in the UK. He leads the Robin Phillips Fistula Research Unit at St Mark's and his research interests include complex abdominal Crohn's disease, IBD and non-IBD perianal fistula, rectovaginal fistula, pouch fistula and pouch disorders, including pouch dysfunction.
He has authored and co-authored an impressive portfolio of publications in colorectal disease, including the European Society of Coloproctology guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of cryptoglandular fistulas, and the TOpClass classification for fistulising perianal Crohn's disease. In 2021, he co-founded the TOpClass consortium with Professor Ailsa Hart, in order to drive advances in international collaborative research in perianal Crohn's disease.
