Icahn School University Hospital of Ghent
The IBD unit at the University Hospital of Ghent is headed by prof. dr. Triana Lobaton together with dr. Jeroen Geldof. Multidisciplinary, patient-focussed treatment of IBD with attention for extraintestinal manifestations and holistic management has been the motto of the team for over several decades.
The perianal fistula team within the IBD unit is completed by colorectal and IBD-surgeon dr. Dirk Van de Putte, hybrid gastroenterologist/proctologist prof. dr. Danny De Looze and radiologist dr. Isabelle De Kock.
The Ghent IBD unit is actively involved in clinical trials considering treatment and outcomes of perianal Crohn’s disease. The unit is collaborating with the VIB-UGent center for Inflammation Research headed by prof. dr. Debby Laukens and supported by em. prof. dr. Martine De Vos.
Dr Isabelle De Kock is a gastrointestinal radiologist at Ghent University Hospital, Belgium, where she has been a consultant since 2015, following radiology training in Ghent and a fellowship in gastrointestinal imaging at University College London Hospital, UK.
